LEDAmc promotes an IT Governance Model based on metrics which allows for:

  • Facilitate access to an integrated Control Panel to the clients comprising the complete development cycle, and that focuses on productivity, quality and costs.
  • Quantification of the different development processes, from requirements to exploitation.
  • Homogeneous metrics application guaranteeing control and traceability.
  • Applying metrics not only to functional development, but also to parametrization (ERPs) and other Non-Function Processes.
  • The ability to obtain of management indicators that will allow for measurement, with the same criteria, from requirements to trials or technical quality.

All of this has the objective to provide an industrial IT development focus.

This solution provided by LEDA is completely novel and cannot be matched with current practices in IT Governance which use a variety of non-homogenous metrics, based on hard work dedication and a manual approach

For this reason, they require excessive and constant efforts in R&D to provide to markets a set of metric methodologies and tools useful for the described approach.


IT Governance Dashboard

LEDAmc is particularly focused on creating an IT Governance Dashboard based on production that will allow control over the different perspectives of software development (unitary costs, productivity, quality, time efficiency, trial managements, supplier management, project management, value for the business). All of this is to be integrated in a rapidly adaptable tool to the requirements of our clients.

Parametrized Software Measurement

LEDAmc has pioneered the creation of metrics that allow to quantify the size of parametrization carried out by development teams, very common in market products (SAP, Siebel, etc.). This gives transparency and absolute control over activities that frequently act as a black box recorder in the control of development costs of sw, which gives information of its productivity as well as providing an estimation of cost and effort.

Testware Estimation

One of the main motives in the delay of development projects of SW is not performing an estimation, or performing a subjective estimation, of the activities associated with tests (design and execution of test, resolving defects, stabilization). LEDAmc has created an estimation model which provides an objective quantification of testware (test cases, defects and efforts associated) from early phases of the project and provides references on which to act upon and carry out a realistic action plan and a true follow up and evolution control of the project..

Requirements quantification

Providing immediate and objective quantification of the magnitude of the requirements of the user, as well as foreseeable efforts and costs, has been one of the latest initiative of development innovation of LEDAmc. The development model allows an increase of clarity and comprehension of requirements, traceability of its future development, an early both automatic and immediate estimation of effort, tailor made project configuration based on available budget and, in general, higher Demand Management efficiency.

Productivity Diagnosis

What are the motives for a dampening in productivity in my development process? Answering this question from different perspectives (development area, trials, requirements managements, provider insurance and management) is fundamental for cost efficiency improval in the development process. LEDAmc has created a tool that allows for identification of elements of the development process which have the greatest impact in development productivity.

Your Agility

One of the changes introduced in the last few years in the development process has been the introduction of Agile methodologies. LEDAmc has carried out studies to validate, and adaptation if necessary, its IT Governance model to these types of developments, placing special focus in the testing procedures.

Corrective maintenance and user support

Product of our clients’ requirements to possess a productivity and quality control model in maintenance areas (including incidences, corrective, user care and support and other operating activities), we ran a study and expansion of the LEDAmc IT Governance model. This model allows for user friendly control of productivity and quality within this area, supported additionally, by an extensive online dashboard.

Project Early Estimation

One of the biggest obstacles when carrying out effort and costs estimates of development projects is to perform them at early stages of the project, when their read is not clearly defined. In these early stages, its huge necessity and usefulness coincides with a high difficulty in determining its reach and be able to provide an as realistic as possible estimation, necessary for budget preparation. The Early Estimation model developed by LEDAmc allows for the estimation of expected development size within an acceptable margin of error and carry out from this report an effort and cost estimation within the different available scenarios (probable, optimistic or pessimistic).

Improved methodology for software size measurement

One of the first innovation lines developed by LEDAmc was quantified by the software size in a more comprehensive and precise manner. For it, different lines were worked on, such as functional size quantification (through the introduction of correction factor standard methodologies of function points), size quantification of parametrizations (whether they give or not functionality to the developed product) or the testing size quantification (from function points of the trials).
